We are not a faceless carrier. We are a family built company and every load matters to us. Here is what you actually get when you work with us.
Michael has always been someone who sees an opportunity and moves on it. Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the kid selling candy to other students before most people his age had a plan. Not because he needed to, but because his grandfather, Alonzo "Lon Jr." Monroe, taught him early that if you show up consistently and treat people right, you can build something real.
After graduating from Clark Atlanta University in 2014, Michael went straight into trucking as a calling, not a side hustle. The business instincts Lon Jr. built in him gave him the foundation to build something that lasts. Every principle driving Tenway today, treating people right, doing what you say, building for the community, those were his grandfather's lessons first.
None of this happens without the woman who made it possible. Michael's mother raised six boys on her own with faith, discipline, and a standard she never lowered. All six of those boys graduated high school. Michael, her eldest, earned his degree from Clark Atlanta and has carried his brothers with him ever since. From guidance to opportunity, he has made sure that what his mother built, her family continues to honor. Tenway is a tribute to her.
What makes Tenway different starts with how Michael treats the people around him. Drivers are well paid, well respected, and supported because he knows what it means to work hard and feel like it matters. He built this company to create real opportunities for his family, his drivers, and the community he came from. Every load delivered carries that forward.
